Good for a laugh I say this is "good for a laugh" because most people who read this will probably think "look at this guy" or "what a loser". However I maintain that there exists at least one person who thinks otherwise, or is at least willing to give me a chance. I have no idea how to meet people now that I've graduated from college. I was barely able to get into a relationship in that environment. I am extremely introverted and have poor social skills and it is becoming more and more glaringly evident that I'm falling behind other people in this regard as I get older. Obviously relationships require that initial attraction and getting to know someone phase. I grew up on a farm in a rural area where I knew everyone so I'm just not good at that. I have a few friends who I've known for a long time and haven't been able to make new friends. I feel uncomfortable and anxious around people I don't know so you can understand how it would be difficult for me to meet girls.
I also don't know what I'm doing with my life at this moment. I studied biology under the assumption that I'd be able to get a job in natural resources but this is proving to be difficult. At this moment I'm living on the farm with my parents and help my dad farm but I'll be doing landscaping in the summer again. I put on some extra pounds during the winter but I'll be working that off. I'll be farming full-time when my dad retires so it's not like I don't have a future. My parents want me to do something with my education and I'm just not sure what to do at this moment. I also recently got a DWI so that makes things even more difficult. This means I can't partake in the shenanigans I've become accustomed to anymore, which is probably for the best. I'll also mention that I like to smoke weed and will continue to do so after I'm not drug tested from my probation any more.
I doubt I would be compatible with someone who is deeply religious because I'm an atheist. I have no problems with someone's beliefs if they have them. I have a scientific view of the world and reality and tend to be very rational about things. I'm not materialistic and am pretty minimalistic. I don't have a sense of "style" and dress plainly for comfort and function at all times. I like typical nerd things such as reading and videogames. I also like the outdoors and enjoy fishing and camping.
Clearly I'm an honest guy and I'm also pretty nice. I'm not "alpha" and enjoy having power over others but on the other hand I'm not the greatest at taking orders from people. I'm an individual. It's just how I was raised on the farm and you're allowed to exist that way because you're really not a part of society in the same way someone working for a large company might be. I bemoan the role texting has taken in modern courtship and will warn you that I won't participate at the level you are probably accustomed to. I don't enjoy the feeling of being tethered to everyone at all times. I use cells mainly for the purpose of arranging meetings in real life and don't like the idea of clogging the bandwidth with things that should be discussed in person, or if not possible, over the internet.
